after our dinner at jaleo, we decided to venture elsewhere for dessert. we walked along the 7th street and chanced upon a small gelato joint.
started in baltimore, pitango gelato offered around 15 flavors of gelato and sorbet each day. you can get the conventional flavors like chocolate, or the unusual ones like mojito, spicy chocolate.
kat got herself crema and fior de latte, while i had quince and mojito sorbet. for me, both crema and fior de latte tasted very similar – milky, rich and creamy. i quite like quince for its tartiness and mojito for its refreshing factor (san the alcohol).
though the gelato and sorbet were a tad sweet, still they provided a nice ending to the day.pitango gelato (they have three outlets in DC, and one in Baltimore and one in Virginia) 413 7th street, nw, washington, dc 20004 +12028859607 sun-thu: 11:00 am to 11:00 pm; fri-sat: 11:00 am to midnight
